After serving in the United States military for seven years, I attended and graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine as an acupuncturist with a focus in orthopedics. After graduation, I volunteered with the Acupuncture Relief Project in rural Nepal where we helped hundreds of farmers with a variety of internal and orthopedic conditions. Upon returning to Portland, I spent over four years working in a busy orthopedic clinic under Dr. Yan Lu, who was trained in China and has over 20 years of experience. During this time, I developed extensive knowledge treating everything from headaches to plantar fasciitis.
I decided to study Chinese Medicine because I enjoy its naturalist approach to health and its methods to get immediate and long lasting results. My formal education combined with years of experience in sports, martial arts, weightlifting, injury management, massage therapy, dietary studies, and strength coaching has helped me develop a unique physical and intellectual understanding of injury, recovery, performance, and overall health.
I have lived in Portland for over a decade. When not working with patients, I enjoy a simple life riding my bike, going to farmers markets, lifting weights, listening to records, playing harmonica, dancing, traveling, cooking or walking around the city with friends.
